Parts of speech

Adjective: an interesting book
Adverb: a very interesting book -

Adjectives describe words. They make nouns more interesting.
Nouns are words that are used to name things (people, places, things).
Verbs are doing words.
Adverbs tell us more about verbs. They tell us how, when or where the action of the verb happens. The can also tell us more about adjectives or other adverbs,

There are also prepositions, conjunctions, presonal and possessive pronouns and question words.

Here you can test yourself.

What does he do?
He is a DJ.

Exercise 3: Underline all the pronouns that are used as an object. How many are there?

Q. How can I make him/her love me?

A. At Teen Advice we get this question a lot and the answer is really quite simple – you can’t make somebody love you. There is nothing you can do or say to make a person who isn’t already smitten suddenly do an about face and fall for you. There is nothing you can change about yourself, no clothing you can buy, no team you can join, no club you can get in to, and no hairstyle you can try that will make a person who isn’t in to you already suddenly notice you and fall in love. (Now read on.)
